Healthcenter "van Gendthallen"

The design for the van Gendthallen is my latest design and was my graduation project on the TU Delft. For this design I tried to keep a close relation on the oncoming developments of the area of the van Gendthallen, in Amsterdam East, to create a plausible scenario for its development.
Because the area is opening itself up for the people of a higher income segment with a focus on work and leisure, a contrast can be formed with the existing residents who live in social housing with a focus on living quietly in the centre of Amsterdam. To prevent segregation of both groups the van Gendthallen will form the heart of the neighbourhood with sport as binding element. More...

Floatel Norwegian ++

The design for the floatel was ordered by the company Keppel Velrome and the TU Delft. Although the company already took measurements to enhance the energy performance of their accommodation buildings, I focused on reducing the needed space. By making the sleeping cabins smaller and adding capsules through the building, I was able to reduce space, while adding extra privacy and a higher interaction in the building. More...

Exposition "Charlois aan het Water"

The exposition design for "Charlois aan het Water" was a part of my internship and was build to inform participants of the final event about our progress. Because the project was started to make an engagement between the neighbourhood and the harbour, I designed the exposition to represent the barrier between both. Here I used the landmarks in the harbour to display results and the view present our vision. More...

Library Faculty of Architecture

The design for the library at the TU Delft faculty Bouwkunde was made in a multi disciplinary design process. In this design I got inspired by the contrast in the tranquility of the courtyard in the design and the surrounding area. As façade designer this translated in a design containing a thick and heavy wall directed to the outside world. By perforating this thick wall a tension between the two world was created, enhancing the design. More...

Liquid Shading

As the name suggests this design is made for a new way of shading. This design protects the people inside by filtering the light using coloured water. This way man is able to block the sun and without blocking their view. When using several colours in a stacked system an entire colour spectrum van be reached. Here the system can be used for setting an ambience in your interior, making this shading system multifunctional and intruguing design feature. More...

Kunsthal

The Kunsthal was my final design for my bachelor degree of the TU Delft. The approach was to redesign the iconic Kunsthal in Rotterdam. My design focuses on the highlighting the exposition by isolating it. The concept of the design was therefore focussed on securing a confined space to exposit art while maintaining an open environment for people to enter the museum. This contrast will create exiting transitions between both elements. More...
