As a designer I am constantly looking at my environment. How this is set together, but especially how people react on this environment. As future architect I want to create surroundings people enjoy. This way I try to get people to look around them and get fascinated by their environment. With this as my guideline I try to look through the stakeholders eyes while designing.
The fascination mainly developed during my internship for the "Charlois aan het Water" project of Vitibuck Architects. This projects showed me the potential of the stakeholders in an environment. While discussing the project with neighbours you recognize the value an area can have for certain groups of people. In my opinion these people are a great source of inspiration. The underlying wishes of the people involved and the environmental influences on a project are therefore of great value for me. The underlining statement is that I like to see the people involved as a source of inspiration for my future project. At last they are the people you try to reach.
Besides people I also aware of the sustainable future we are facing. The integration of sustainable elements in a design are therefore undeniable. In my opinion these elements can only add an extra layer into the design. Therefore these elements need to be well integrated in the design to add extra value.
